"Take off your shoes. Make yourself at home."
Brunch, the portmanteau love child of breakfast and lunch, is more than a late-waker's meal. For some, it's a way of life.
(I do not own the rights for this poster.)
Popping-up for one day only, "Bunch Mafia" brought a veritable group of big-shots and newbies together for a celebration of summer and all things brunch.
From ice-cream sandwiches by Zwei Dicke Bären ('Two Fat Bears' auf Deutsch) and waffles from new-comer Lux, to coffee from third-waver* Silo and shots made from house-grown wheatgrass(spike-able with Our/Berlin locally distilled vodka), "Brunch Mafia" had something to offer for everyone.
The brunch menu consisted of three plates - one with sausages from The Sausage Man Never Sleeps, one vegetarian plate, and of course one for vegans with a tofu scramble - along with cakes for those with teeth of a sweeter disposition.
*Third-wave coffee movement. Read about it here.
As of now there is no word of another installment of "Brunch Mafia", but keep your eyes peeled! There might well be another chance for you to bring some brunch-y goodness to your stomach in the future. In the meantime, why not visit the INFARM café for fresh food made from the freshest produce?
**To be honest I was too engrossed in exciting conversation that I missed the food this time round. I did enjoy two coffees from the boys at Silo, which were great as always.
